ABOUT US

EECM is a charity organization dedicated to helping young children in Eastern Europe who are facing different forms of poverty. Our mission is to provide these children with access to diverse educational programs and essential resources that will help them build better lives. We focus specifically on children from underprivileged families who lack access to public education. Our work is made possible by the generous donations of our supporters and volunteers.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to provide hope, opportunity, and empowerment to every child, regardless of their circumstances. We envision a future where every child has the tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

WHAT WE DO

We provide comprehensive educational support and essential resources, addressing the challenges faced by these underserved children. From kindergarten through high school, we equip them with the tools they need to succeed academically and socially. We also offer daily necessities, education on health and nutrition, and build homes for the impoverished Gypsy community.

OUR COMMUNITY

Our community is made up of dedicated volunteers, supporters, and partners who share our passion for improving the lives of young children in Eastern Europe. We work tirelessly to integrate these children into mainstream society while preserving their cultural identity. With over 20 years of impactful service, our experienced missionaries have positively impacted countless lives.

OUR TEAM

HONG SHICK KIM, PhD, DD, M.Div.

After earning his Master of Divinity degree from Hapdong Theological Seminary in South Korea, Dr. Hong Shick Kim served as a pastor in Jamsil for nine years. Responding to a divine calling, he embarked on a missionary journey to Romania under the auspices of Korea Food for the Hungry International (K.F.H.I.). For the past 28 years, he has dedicated himself to pioneering Gypsy churches and spearheading the Children Development Project.

During his service, Dr. Kim pursued and obtained his Ph.D. in Missiology and a Doctor of Divinity from Yeshua University & Theological Seminary. Additionally, he furthered his studies in missiology at Chongshin University.

His focus has been on preaching the gospel to Gypsy youth confronting challenging circumstances in Eastern Europe. Dr. Kim endeavors to inspire them with vision and dreams while providing essential support such as daily necessities, school supplies, and scholarships to ensure their high school graduation. He is committed to nurturing these young individuals into mature leaders poised to positively impact their communities.

SUJUNG HONG, RN, MSW

After graduating from Chonnam National University College of Medicine in South Korea with her nursing degree, she furthered her qualifications as a midwife through training at Seoul National University Hospital. She then pursued a master's degree in social work from Bucharest University in Romania, which marked the beginning of her 28-year journey in Gypsy ministry across Eastern Europe.

Specializing in children's educational missions and family ministry, her focus has been on preventing early marriages among Gypsy children, particularly those between the ages of 12 and 14, and providing support to orphaned children. Through this dedicated ministry, a positive transformation within Gypsy communities has unfolded as the culture of early marriage has diminished and the divorce rate has decreased. Families are being strengthened in their faith, embracing the teachings of Christ.

She is deeply passionate about this work and remains committed to serving these communities and nurturing positive change.
